Subscription renewals, new season tickets and single seats for the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra’s autumn season go on sale on Friday, January 27.

The four concerts, conducted by Daniel Boico and Brandon Phillips, will take place at the Cape Town City Hall on four consecutive Thursdays, from March 30 to April 20.

Soloists in the season are Alexander Gilman, David Nebel and Avigail Bushakevitz (violin), Danielle Akta (cello), and Petronel Malan (piano).

Main works on the programmes are Rachmaninov/Respighi Cinq Etudes-Tableaux, Bartok Concerto for Orchestra, Mahler Symphony no 1 and Stravinsky Petrushka (1947).

Works featuring the violinists are Waxman Carmen Fantasy, Sarasate Navarra for Two Violins and Beethoven and Khachaturian concertos; Tchaikovsky Variations on a Rococo Theme (cello); Ms Malan will play the Emperor Concerto by Beethoven.


Tickets: Single seats are R90 – R230. Subscriptions attract a 20% discount, an extra 10% for members of the Friends of Orchestral Music
