After a lengthy hiatus, the Evita se Perron theatre is finally back with a full programme for spring. Tannie Evita is ready to welcome visitors back into her living room in the heart of blooming Darling, just in time for the flower season.
Each weekend from 4 September through to 26 September 2021, Tannie Evita Praat Kaktus will be staged at 12 noon. The famous tannie back, two jabs later, to prove that the future is certain; it’s just the past that is unpredictable.
On 24 September 2021 there’ll be a special Heritage Day show at the Perron. In An Audience with Pieter-Dirk Eish, audiences get to pic which sketch they’d like to see. The characters are all waiting – PW Botha, Piet Koornhof, Evita Bezuidenhout, Winnie Mandela, Jacob Zuma, Desmond Tutu, Nowell Fine and Pieter-Dirk Uys. Something old, something new, something shocking, all for you!
More treats at the Perron
You can also go for alfresco or fine dining options at the Perron. The recently opened Kossie Sikelela restaurant is currently featuring an early spring menu with a contemporary take on South African classic dishes (think of a koeksuster ring on melktert ice cream with burnt pineapple). And there is the Café for more informal breakfasts and lunches, where you can also pick up deli goods and home-made specialities.
