Jimmy Nevis is set to headline the 17 March Concerts in the Park 2019 show, joined by The Rockets and Flamenco guitarist Saudiq Khan. The concert will take place from 2pm at De Waal Park in Upper Orange Street, Gardens.
“This is a show I really look forward to as the audience is so close to you and you truly feed off the crowd,” said Nevis, whose gig will mark the second time he has played in the park.
“I have my new album out called Chimera, released late 2018, and will be playing material from that album as well as my classic hits that audiences have shown so much love for, like Heartboxing, Balloon, 7764 and All About It,” said Nevis.
The artist has released three studio albums, namely Subliminal (2012), The Masses (2014) and Chimera (2018).
The Rockets recently celebrated 50 years in the business, and remain one of South Africa’s most popular r ‘n’ b / pop-rock outfits. They’ve received SAMA nominations, supported the likes of Billy Ocean and Luther Vandross, and frequently play abroad.
