Fred Abrahamse and Marcel Meyer will present Macbeth at the Theatre on the Bay, following its European debut.

Macbeth at the Theatre on the Bay

After the sensational success of Hamlet at the Theatre on the Bay, Pieter Toerien hosts Abrahamse and Meyer’s dazzling take on Macbeth – William Shakespeare’s shortest, darkest psychological thriller. The play features Meyer as Macbeth with Stephen Jubber as MacDuff, Matthew Baldwin as Malcolm, Jeremy Richard as The Porter, Tailyn Ramsamy as Banquo and David Viviers as Lady Macbeth.

This production comes to the Theatre On The Bay hot on the heels of its European debut at one of the world’s largest international Shakespeare festivals.

Set in medieval Scotland and partly based on a true historical account, Macbeth charts the bloody rise to power and tragic downfall of the warrior Macbeth. The Theatre on the Bay production is notable in that despite the play featuring a large cast of characters, this version only has six players. And it is an all-male cast.
