The Swing All Stars Big Band, under the baton of Mike Campbell, appears at Pigalle Restaurant on 30 May, 2019. So, if you love to jump, jive, jitterbug, swing or hop, then this is your time!
Pigalle Restaurant and Real Wired Music in association with Johnnie Walker present a night dedicated to swing dancing dubbed This Thing Called Swing. “We have DJ 20th Century Fox playing through the night and The Swing All Stars Big Band [20 piece] who will transport you back to the shebeens, juke joints and dance halls of the late 30’s to 50’s. This will be a nostalgic trip back to the heyday when swing was king,” says Campbell.

Pigalle has a special menu planned for the night and their dance floor will be waiting. The idea is to dress up, bring your dancing shoes and don’t be late.
The MC Big Band is the only band of its kind in the country to offer a full range of styles in the big band setting, from the 40’s classics of Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman to contemporary dance music of today, as well as indigenous South African styles.
The MC Big Band has worked regularly with the country’s top artists including Gloria Bosman, Judith Sephuma, Winston Mankunku, Robbie Jansen and Melanie Scholtz, plus other jazz and pop artists.The MC Big Band has performed at high-profile events such as the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Festival and the Oude Libertas Summer Series, and functions including the Sheraton Spring Ball, the Solstice Foundation Ball, the Fancourt Spring Ball and Artists for AIDS Awareness.
