SA Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind (GDA) will hold their third annual Gala Dinner taking place on Saturday, 14 October 2017, 7pm at Kelvin Grove in Newlands to commemorate World Sight Day that is recognised internationally on the second Thursday of October.

The association appeals to the public and corporate sector to support the annual event by purchasing a seat or hosting a table of ten for an evening of fun and great entertainment. The evening promises to leave you moved by the wonderful people and their four legged mobility aids to which the evening is dedicated – raising funds for this very worthy cause, which train dogs to provide independence, mobility and companionship to those who need it most.
Guests will be treated a decadent three course meal accompanied by the divine Miss Molly range of wines and bubbly from Môreson Wine Farm. The highlight of the evening will be entertainment by Cape Town’s very own winner of The Voice 2016, Richard Stirton (pictured below). Guests will be inspired by the talent of guide dog owners playing the cello and guest speaker Lois Strachan, guide dog owner, author and motivational speaker extradonaire. Host and MC for the evening will be TV and radio presenter, Danilo Acquisto.

“The Gala Dinner is our biggest and most important event which raises awareness and substantial funding needed to train more working dogs for Cape Town. There is no better occasion than hosting this event in commemoration of World Sight Day which this year falls on 12 October 2017. Through the training of more dogs, we can empower our differently abled community. We rely on the public, our biggest supporters to help us make this difference,” says Teagan Schwerin, SA Guide-Dogs Marketing Manager
As always, SA Guide-Dogs will have a sweet surprise with the spotlight being on the beautiful furry companions that make the world of difference to their owners and not forgetting the most adorable puppies.
