Canal Walk Ice Slides return to Cape Town this December and January 2023. It opens on 9 December 2022 and runs until 13 January 2023. The Holiday Ice Slides are inspired with a Disney theme.
To look forward to are a snow play area for the little ones or anyone looking to build an ice castle with real snow; a series of Disney themed super slides with all the thrills and chills of height and twists of speed, as well as a double lane slide this year – for side-by-side healthy competition speed trials.
Disney movies
Parents and caregivers are invited to join in on the action too, or simply be spectators and watch the pure joy on their faces as they work off any excess energy and simply do what kids do best – laugh, smile, and have fun.
With the latest Disney movies and offerings on hand, there are plenty of opportunities to be snapped with characters from Wakanda Forever, as well as Mickey & Pals. For those who love to sing, there will also be singalong karaoke.
Keeping the fun memories alive is the option for families to capture the moment with the special Canal Walk Ice Slide Photos – from R60, and can be printed on the spot to take home and treasure for years to come.
Reaching for the roof, will be a huge Christmas tree adorned with Disney plush toys, which will also be donated by the Hyprop Foundation to Reach for a Dream so they too can put a smile on a beloved child’s dial.
Santa is also happy to announce that he will be back to take photos with fans. He’ll be in the Centre Court at Canal Walk Monday to Sunday from 10am- 6pm from 09 – 18 December and 10am – 9pm on 19 – 23 December. On 24 December, Santa will be on hand until 6pm, as he has a busy schedule ahead of him that night!
Festive gift wrapping
The Canal Walk gift wrapping stations will be operational from 09-24 December 2022. They will be located in the Checkers and Pick n Pay courts. Gift wrapping fees vary from R15-R50, depending on the size of gift. Proceeds will be donated to Reach for a Dream.
