Ms.B-haved at the Drama FactoryWritten and performed by Sue Diepeveen and directed by Natasha Sutherland, Ms.B-haved will run at The Drama Factory from 25 October to 1 November 2025. The  play follows her last hit, the hilarious one-woman show So You Want to Be a Trophy Wife. Ms.B-haved premiered at the National Arts Festival this year.

The play is an insightful, funny and poignant look at the extremes expected from educators, parents and learners in an ever-changing world and the reaches of cancel culture that have become the norm.

Teacher Sally Burkett is in disgrace! She’s suspended from Littleman Junior School amidst a scandal unlike any other. Sally thought that her thirty years of teaching had given her immunity to scandal, but the “much loved” Ms Burkett has rocked the small school and town, and now she awaits her fate.

Marveling at it all

She has worked hard to navigate changing policies, updated learning styles, and new age parents – what could she possibly have done to send her into this purgatory, and can she recover? Laugh along with Sally as she ponders her fate and unpacks what brought her to the particular hell of Zoom teaching online!

“When creating Ms.B-haved, I wanted to make everyone smile but also explore the trepidation, nostalgia and tenacity that happens when inevitable change challenges our identity and worth,” says Diepeveen. It’s in the laughter of marveling at it all that we can learn how to live, teach, work and parent together!”
