For the second time this month the ImproGuise team will be jumping onto a stage and making things up, this time at The Galloway Theatre on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 August.
These two improv shows are special and will be unique, not only because they will be made up and never seen again, but also because they have music as a theme and all the tunes, lyrics and moves will be made up right there, in front of the audience.

Cape Town’s most loved and longest running improv troupe, ImproGuise, is known for its ground-breaking improvisation, as well as being famous for the highly addictive short form TheatreSports.
Musical madness!
Here, at The Galloway, their best improvisers will be performing Scenes from a Hat on Friday 18, a show based on suggestions that come out of, you guessed it, a hat. There will be singing and non-singing scenes. Then, on Saturday 19, the team will perform an entirely made up musical based on a title and suggestions from the audience. This will have to be seen to be believed. No rehearsals, no sense of what the style of tune might be, probably some of the lines will even rhyme. Mind blown.
The Galloway Theatre is the perfect space for musical improv, being part of the Waterfront Theatre School which has a long history of developing strong musical theatre performers. So what better way to pay homage to this heritage of rhythm than with some improvised song and dance? (Disclaimer: Improvisers are not musically trained, nor choreographed. Musical improvisation should not be attempted at home unless under adult supervision).
