Every year in March in South Africa, the entertainment industry and film fans turn their attention to the South African Film & Video Awards.
Anticipation builds up with film and TV lovers tuning in to watch the glam ceremony and discover who will snap up the highest honours in the industry.
The 12th Annual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAS 2018) aired live on SABC 2 on Saturday, March 24, 2018. The star-studded event kicked off at 7.30pm with the red carpet hosted by Kuli Roberts and Rorisang Thandekiso, and the main event commenced at 8pm in the Sun City Superbowl.
The main event was hosted by Thando Thabete and Phat Joe. Winners on the night walked away with the Golden Horn that has become synonymous with SAFTAs, and these symbolize the continuous reel of the past, present, future.
