During his extensive career, Steve Newman has made an marked contribution to the South African music industry. Fans can get to see this renown guitarist on the False Bay Folk platform on Tuesday, 7 November.
Steve is currently undergoing medical treatment for glaucoma and cataracts in his only eye with vision. As treatment is expensive, the False Bay Folk are showing their appreciation and support for this legendary muso by holding a benefit show on his behalf.
Steve has been a member of Tananas, All in One, In the Clouds, The Aquarian Quartet, Jika Nelanga, Mondetta, The Road Warriors, The Steve Newman trio, plus he performs solo. The much-loved Tananas ensemble has played concerts and festivals worldwide, including Australia, Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong.

At the gig punters can also give a donation to support Steve – no matter how big or small, every bit helps. Cash donations at the door. All proceeds will go to Steve.
He will be supported by the club’s Reini Adelbert and Jennifer Eaves. Note: best to book tickets as soon as possible as this will probably be a hugely popular show. The best tables are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Seating is limited.
