The Calling The Called Preachers Challenge finally hits our screens on GauTV on DStv Channel 265, from Sunday, 15 December 2019 at 8.30pm. It will be hosted by former Isidingo actor and TV presenter Tshepo Maseko.
Calling The Called Preachers Challenge is the first South African TV show focusing on uncovering talented preachers.
13 Episodes include viewers votes
This is a season of 13 episodes that will showcase contestants being put through rigorous challenges to prove if they are worthy of the ultimate prize. Viewers will also be allowed to vote for their favourite preacher as the episodes unfold.
In the first stages of the program, there will be five formidable judges to adjudicate the process. A different celebrity judge will feature weekly. Some of the judges on Calling the Called is Dr David Molapo, Pastor Ralekholela, Ayanda Ncwane and well-known pastors from America.
Auditions were held throughout Gauteng Province first in Pretoria at The Pretoria State Theatre followed by Walter Sisulu Square and The Joburg Theatre. These auditions also form part of the 13 episodes. Viewers should expect to see tears, laughter and decorated personalities.
We have seen shows about talented singers and soccer players, but the producers hope this will be unique TV content. “We are ready for a new level of meaningful television,” says Ruth Mabona, GauTV Station Manager.
The winner of Calling The Called Preachers Challenge will walk away with a brand-new car and prizes worth 1 million.
