Wild Woman is Julia Ariete’s funny and thought provoking solo show that explores the journey of a woman reconnecting with her power through her menstruation cycle. She is in constant search to find balance between the divine feminine and female rage.
By connecting her menstruation cycle to the moon cycle, she uncovers her true essence, and finds a new way of releasing shame and embracing being feminine in a new way.
Through connecting to archetypes like witches and the woman on the moon as well as figures like Medusa and Lilith, the show makes us rethink how history has been told and how we can change the narrative for a more equal world.
Wild Woman is written and performed by Julia Ariete. She is an upcoming actress from Luxembourg. She graduated from Act Cape Town in 2024 and starts her career with this first solo show.
Says Ariete: “Get ready to unleash your inner goddess and to stop playing it small. Reconnect with your body, your cycle and the moon, because let’s face it: the moon gets it. This show is for anyone who’s ever wondered, what the actual heck is going on inside a bleeding woman.”
