The Sir Thomas Brewing Company outside Stellenbosch is the spot to head for the upcoming Analog on Tap series.
Arno Carstens Trio, Albert Frost Trio and Matt Carstens usher in the showcase.
The gig happens on Friday, 10 October, 2019 at 4pm. Analog on Tap sees Arno Carstens performing his latest single Empire of the Night, and he’ll also exhibit his own paintings and signed prints, which will be sold on the day.
The analog vibe
Sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll have been the go-to slogan for the raw sound of music played through robust analog sound equipment – and that’s drive behind the Analog on Tap event.
The Sir Thomas Brewing Company is known for their carefully crafted range of boutique beers, which will be the keystone to this audible experience. Add some good musicians, a bit of ‘cool’ and a 32-year-old Neve sound desk mixed by a Grammy Award-winning sound engineer, and you have a recipe for rock ‘n’ roll in its rawest form.
Arno Carstens started his career as the singer of The Springbok Nude Girls, and subsequently evolved into a bilingual solo artist with recordings in English and Afrikaans. He’s released multiple albums, spawned a string of successful singles, received SAMA-awards, including Best Rock Album, Best Alternative Album and Song of the Year. Arno is also a fine artist who paints in oils and acrylic on canvas and draws with charcoal on paper.
Albert Frost has been dubbed the “South African Hendrix”. Frost is one of the first Fender endorsees in South Africa.
Matt Carstens is a pop singer-songwriter from Cape Town. Armed with his acoustic guitar and loop pedal, he delivers an entertaining set of original compositions and well-known covers.
Analog on Tap tickets include a special gift. Tickets are R300.
