The Barleycorn Music Club’s annual festival went down a storm with a variety of acts on the bill, plus the superb cherry on the top – Crimson House.

Now it’s back to business and this Monday 20 November’s line-up features Christy-Lyn, Oh Mercy and the Jimm Harisson Project.

Christy-Lyn

A singer and harpist from Cape Town, Christy-Lyn has an angelic voice and has a passion for performing. A versatile musician, she sings a mix of Celtic songs, classical pieces and l nostalgic love songs.

Known as the harpist with the curly red hair from The Voice South Africa 2017, Christy-Lyn wowed the coaches who were “transported to another world”, and put her through as one of the top 48 contestants in this singing competition. Excited by her performances, coach Lira commented “That was a stellar, stellar performance. Just absolutely flawless. And such a delight that you play the harp! You’re unique.”

Christy-Lyn strives to make a positive impact in people’s lives by making harp music more accessible in South Africa and online. Wherever she performs, her music instantly changes the atmosphere, stopping people in their tracks and touching their hearts. www.christylynmusic.com

Oh Mercy

Oh Mercy

“She’s the magnolias and he’s the matches!”

Raised by a family of preachers and folk singers, recording artist Andy Lund has had rock n roll and country music in his veins since his first memory. Born and bred in the wild farmlands of Kwazulu Natal, recording artist Emma Du Preez’s love for country and folk was cemented by long road trips across the deep south of America and the country music radio stations which kept her company. Together they are Oh Mercy.

Both solo singer-songwriters, they joined forces at the end of 2012 when the sweet harmonies and dirty, sexy southern guitar riffs that personify their brand of country music were born. The duo released their first mini album, Nowhere City, produced in South Africa by SAMA award-winner Theo Crous and mastered in the U.S.A by Grammy award-winner Gavin Lurssen, in October2015. facebook.com/ohmercymusic

Jimm Harisson Project

Jimm Harisson ProjectFresh from a spot at the 2017 festival, the Jimm Harisson Project is welcomed back. Having released their first album, Chapter One, in 2016, this Cape Town-based band has gained momentum and is currently performing throughout South Africa.

The Project started off as a long term experiment combining several influences into a pop-rock collaboration with a splash of blues. The band was founded when Jimm was awarded a recording contract from BrightIdeasStudio. Their first album was recorded in 2014 and was finished early 2016.  The band has perform with artists like Francois Van Coke, Prime Circle, Theuns Jordaan, Monark and Herman Kleinhans. facebook.com/jmmharissonsa, www.jimmharissonproject.co.za
