McCullagh Buccaneer, The Harmonix Legendary producer and musical director, Mike McCullagh, of McCully Workshop, Station 70, 60  Something, Milestones to the Millennium fame has formed The Harmonix. The group now pays tribute to Britain’s national treasure and cultural icons – The Beatles.

Swinging Sixties

Patrons can expect songs like Hey Jude, Get Back, Ticket to Ride, Norwegian Wood, Sgt. Pepper, Back in the USSR, Obladi Oblada, I Feel Fine and more Beatle faves. Fans can expect a two hour show which allows you to sing and dance to your favourite Beatles’ songs, whilst laughing at hilarious facts and quotes.

The band, spearheaded by Mike on drums and vocals, enjoyed a 3-week run at Kalk Bay Theatre in May with sold-out performances for most of run. They will re-create many of the sounds of the Swinging Sixties, as well as put their stamp of originality on their versions of Beatles’ songs.

Mike received a Sarie Award for his song of the year, Buccaneer, which achieved gold status in 1978. He directed the musical Beatlemania for Artscape and his acclaimed 60 Something ran at the V & A Waterfront’s Dock Road Café for 4 years.

Vocalist, Luella Holland, who studied at Cape Town Waterfront College, has appeared in many productions, among them McCullagh’s A Tribute to ABBA at Grand West. Keyboardist Gordon Mackay and guitar wizard Andy Murray show off the Lennon/McCartney vocals with ample support from Christopher Murray on guitar and lead vocals. Andy has performed in countless Barnyard  productions including The Fab Four, while Christopher Murray, has been applauded for his rendition of Let It Be.

Gordon Mackay with his classical tuition in violin and piano has performed in comedy show bands, tribute shows and backed international and local cabaret stars. He performed on board The Queen of Scandinavia & The Color Fantasy luxury cruise liners and was an intergral part of the John, Paul, George, & Ringo Beatles tribute at Grand West in 2008.
Bassist Neil Peyten conveys the classic McCartney bass lines. For Beatles’ fans and lovers of music in general.
