Amy Poehler is back with a brand new show on Comedy Central, (DStv Channel 122), but this time behind the scenes. Taking the seat as Executive Producer in what’s dubbed “a hilarious half hour scripted series”, we see Ilana and Abbi, two Jewish American women in their 20’s, share their daily adventures of carelessness and frivolity in New York City, making the smallest, mundane events hysterical and disturbing to watch all at the same time.

Amy Poehler returns with Broad City on Comedy CentralGuest stars on ‘Broad City’

With comedic heavyweights including Fred Armisen, Rachel Dratch, Janeane Garofalo, Michelle Hurst, Jason Mantzoukas and Amy Sedaris as guest stars, the critically acclaimed web series Broad City comes to Comedy Central as a half-hour scripted series created by Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, and is based on their own experiences.
Abbi is a 26 year old who works as a cleaner at a fitness centre. She hates her job and is also a struggling artist who dreams of pursuing her art full-time. Abbi is constantly trying to find a balance between being a responsible, self-sufficient adult and a fun-loving free spirit like Ilana.

Ilana is 23 years old and tries to avoid working as much as possible by taking breaks that last for hours. She is free-spirited and “liberated”, and finds a way to always drag Abbi into her escapades with hilariously unintentional consequences.
