Deepest Darkest is Cape Town’s exciting new contemporary art gallery. Deepest Darkest opens its first winter group show, Constellation, on Saturday 29 June, which runs until Friday, 23 August, 2019.
The show features 12 established and emerging South African artists presenting art works in multiple mediums. The exhibition will see international award-winning artist duo, AD-Reflex, showing their work for the first time in Cape Town.
The Johannesburg-based duo, made up of Johan Conradie and Karl Gustav Sevenster have produced celebrated mixed media works such as Council Chamber, which took first place at the 2018 ‘F The Art World’ International Art Competition in the Fine Art/Mixed Media category.

Gallerist and curator Deon Redman notes: “‘Constellation’ further establishes the gallery’s focus on curating quality, accessible work across multiple art practices. The show is premised on the Oscar Wilde quote, ‘We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.”
“Myth and legend, the human vulnerability of the search for meaning, and the acquiring of abstracts as a means of defining context and formulating understanding, both personal and societal are key themes of the show,” Redman explains.
The opening public and media event is on Saturday, 29 June 29 2019 from 1pm.
