The False Bay Folk team puts together an interesting monthly acoustic-oriented showcase. Tuesday, 6 June’s gig at the Clovelly Country Club kicks off with Bryan, who is new to the music scene, followed by Wayne Pauli and singer songwriter Melissa Natalie.
Bluesy Wayne Pauli
Wayne is recognised as one of the finest blues guitarists in the country – both on acoustic and electric, with strong vocals. He grew up in a musical family and started playing in a band with his father Dave Pauli before he left school. Wayne, along with John Mostert (Dr John) and Greg Smith, founded The Boulevard Blues Band in 1998. He later released an album of acoustic folk songs called Farewell Station Road in 2000.
Wayne then moved to London in 2003 to pursue his musical ambitions and in 2006 formed 3 piece rock outfit The Stremes with Benjamin Peacefull on bass and Adam Shapiro (Atom Shape) on drums. While in London the band signed a publishing deal which has seen his original music used in several TV series and ads in the US and SA.

Soulful Melissa Natalie
Vocalist Melissa Natalie has a haunting, pure quality to her crystal clear voice which evokes an emotional response from the listener. Her music is soulful and stretches across various genres as she pours her whole heart into her songs.
She was chosen as a finalist in the 2016 Barleycorn Songwriters Competition and is currently performing her songs accompanied by The Lanky Jake on guitar and Devon Grenfell on cajon drumbox. She is also doing session singing work on other albums.
