South African guitarists Guy Buttery and Dan Patlansky each have their own ardent fan base, and it’s not often you get to see these two six string players collaborating live.
Now lost concert video footage has been recovered of the two intersecting on acoustic guitars. The video was lost on a hard drive for 6 years when the power cable went missing. Guy forgot about the filming, and only recently rediscovered the footage.
The video was snapped at Durban’s Catalina Theatre
The concert it was taken from was from a five night run (which sold out, so they booked 2 extra performances) at the now defunct Catalina Theatre in Durban.
It was Dan’s first ever run of acoustic shows and featured them playing solo pieces and around 5 to 6 duets, with December Poems being one of them.
