MTV Base, DStv channel 322, has assembled its list of Ones to Watch for 2017 – basically a hand-picked selection of artists tipped to make it big on the music scene in 2017.
Compiled by MTV Base music and talent experts from across the continent, the list of 55 established and up-and-coming artists is based on their assessment of the artists’ potential, including sales performance, active release schedule, popularity/buzz, radio and video airplay and style.
MTV Base aims to support these artists as much as possible throughout the year, building their profiles via on air and on line exposure, play-listing their repertoire, supporting key video releases and involving them in MTV Base events and gigs.
The next such initiative sees Wurld’s latest video Show You Off, featuring Shizzi and Walshy Fire, premiere exclusively on MTV Base in SA and ROA on Tuesday, 14 February.
