Aviva Pelham is directing the second celebratory concert for Heavenly Quartez – the Heavenly Quartez 10th Anniversary Concert, right in the centre of Cape Town at a time that will allow you to enjoy Sunday lunch, and get home in the early evening after the show.
This Artscape Theatre show takes place on Sunday, 2 December 2018 at 4pm. Heavenly Quartez will be accompanied by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Chad Hendricks.
The Quartet
The group features Nkumbuzo Nkonyana, Mawande Mxunyelwa, Melikhaya (Melly) Ndabeni and Sihle Mtitshana. The quartet joined forces in 2008 to combine their powerful singing with youthful charm and an unbounded love of music.
Their latest performances include the Cape Town Philharmonic’s Debut Gala Concert – A Symphonic Platform for Community Brilliance in February, and their 10th Anniversary Concert in Khayelitsha in June 2018.
What a repertoire they have lined up
From Hooked on Beethoven to Nella Fantasia by Morricone. From Nessun Dorma by Puccini to Brindisi from Verdi’s La Traviata. From the modern hits Circle of Life by Elton John and I Believe in You, recorded by Celine Dion and Il Divo to a Big Band Selection. And, their acclaimed multilingual medley in Afrikaans, English, Italian and Xhosa.
