Whether you’re rolling solo or with a partner, M-Net Movies 1 (DStv 104) has a great lineup of movies this Valentine’s month of love.
The Valentine’s theme is led by local film Late Bloomer. Directed by Amy Jephta (Barakat, Skemerdans), it stars Nicole Fortuin (Alles Malan, Die Boekklub) as a party girl in her mid-30s who is forced to grow up when she falls pregnant. It premiered on 12 February at 8pm.
Late Bloomer also stars Danny Ross (Arendsvlei, Suidooster, Skemerdans), Monique Rockman (Suidooster, Gaia), comedian Kate Pinchuck and Tankiso Mamabolo. It will be available on Showmax from 28 February, 2022.

Valentine’s Day (14 February at 8pm): This romantic comedy with an all-star cast follows the stories of couples, their make-ups, break-ups and all the expectations and pressures that Valentine’s Day brings.

The Runaway Bride (19 February at 8pm): Julia Roberts and Richard Gere star in this timeless romcom about a woman who can’t commit to marriage and the journalist writing a story about her.
The Breakup (20 February at 18:15): Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston play a once-happy twosome who go to war after breaking up – with things getting nastier by the day.
When in Rome (21 February at 8pm): A woman, unlucky in love, travels to Rome where she steals coins from the renowned fountain of love and is then pursued by a band of suitors.
Twilight Saga: New Moon (23 February at 8pm): In the second Twilight film, Bella is devastated after Edward’s abrupt departure. She soon finds herself forming a bond with Jacob, who has his own secrets.
Twilight Saga: Eclipse (24 February at 8pm): Fierce wolf vs vampire action in the third Twilight film as Bella is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob.
Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt 1 (25 February at 8pm): The global hit begins its epic conclusion. Bella and Edward get some disturbing news that threatens the Wolf Pack and Bella’s life.
Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt 2 (26 February at 8pm): In the final chapter, the Cullens gather vampire allies in an attempt to save the life of the newborn.
This Is 40 (28 February at 8pm): Knocked Up director Judd Apatow offers up a frank and often side-splittingly funny look at a couple struggling to come to terms with getting older.
From vampire love to a later in life coming-of-age tale, this February on M-Net Movies 1 caters to every Valentine’s taste. There’s no boredom on the horizon!
