This Saturday, 21 January 2023, Concerts SA presents Carlo Mombelli’s new project called Mombelli’s Chamber. One of South Africa’s premier avant-garde bassists, he will be supported by Susan Mouton on cello, Sisonke Xonti plays saxophone and Nicholas Williams piano.
Apart from lecturing at Wits University, Mombelli plays internationally. He rates performances with Lee Konitz and Egberto Gismonti as some of his highlights.
The upcoming concert is at The Olympia in Kalk Bay, Cape Town.
