The first Muizenberg Jazz Festival takes place on 13 and 14 October, 2017 at The Masque Theatre in Muizenberg. The line-up will feature 10 jazz acts each performing an hour-long set over the course of two evenings, plus there’ll be a photographic exhibition.
Cape, World, Afro jazz
The gig features classic, contemporary, Cape, world and Afro jazz, as well as a Big Band performance. The line-up includes music by Bokani Dyer and McCoy Mrubata, as well as an Ella Fitzgerald tribute, A’ LA ELLA!, headed by US Singer Yvette Norwood-Tiger.

Tucked in between iconic Surfers Corner and Muizenberg mountain peak, The Masque Theatre’s proximity to main roads and public transport makes entertainment here easily accessible. The venue comfortably seats an audience of 165 and is equipped to provide a high-fidelity listening experience.
The festival organiser’s vision is to provide a place for artists and their art forms to thrive, to entertain and to leave the community/ audience enlightened and enriched.
Workshops organized by SAJE (South African Association for Jazz Education) take place on Saturday 14 October in the morning.
