Steve Van and Elton Goslett team up for some cool folk, rock and blues. These two musicians recently shared the stage together for the first time at The Barleycorn Music Club in Claremont.
The Thomas Easton in Mowbray’s stage is hosting a range of interesting acts and the duo will head there for their first joint gig. They will each perform solo, plus some special collabs. Expect an evening of folk (Steve) blues (Elton) with some rock holding it all together and a sprinkling of jazz magic.

An acoustic rock artist, Steve’s current album, Words for Walls, is a collection of his acoustic/rock/alt rock songs from past to present. The majority of his songs have been produced and recorded by Bruce Williams of Mighty Music Productions. Bruce Williams is known for his work in 80’s band Tribe after Tribe. Steve has also toured with Tim Parr (Ella Mental, Zap Dragons).
Included on his Words for Walls album is Steve’s song Into the Sky, as seen on the VW TV ad, Saying Goodbye to Citi Golf. He is presently back in the studio.

Elton is a versatile guitar player whose style is at the meeting point of jazz, blues and soul.
While his first love has always been the blues he is an accomplished jazz guitarist who often accompanies various singers, as well as his own ensemble. He currently plays lead in a jazz rock fusion band Mixed Roots and a gypsy jazz trio, The Hot Club.
He is self-taught and when not gigging can be found teaching at the Jazz Workshop in Cape Town.
