This Thing Called Swing features The Swing All Stars Big Band at the V&A Waterfront Silo District on 6 January 2023. It’s part of the free live music concert series there, which run from November 2022 to April 2023.
Expect hop, swing, jump and jive as the 20-piece band led by Mike Campbell travels back to the 30s and 40s. A dedicated dancefloor awaits, so dress up and bring your dancing shoes. Cape Town Swing will offer a free dance class before the show to get you ready and prepared to swing the night away.
Silo Concerts
Visitors to the V&A can look forward to an exciting and varied concert line-up as part of the 2022/2023 series.
Silo Concerts in partnership with Hendricks Gin are entertaining visitors to the Waterfront’s neighbourhood.
Established in 2018, the concerts quickly gained in popularity and soon became an annual series of memorable events, before the onset of the pandemic brought an end to public events.
Previously acts have included jazz and kwela bands, singer Amanda Black, The Soil, and more.
