Talking Heads and Santana on screenTwo major music movies, one a cult classic and one a premiere, will be screened by Ster- Kinekor during September.

For one night only, on Tuesday 12 September 2023 at 7pm, the Talking Heads concert film, Stop Making Sense (pictured left), remastered in 4K, will have a special IMAX Live Experience screening in Ster-Kinekor’s IMAX cinemas at Mall of Africa, Midrand, and V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.

Stop Making Sense was filmed in 1984, and directed by Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs, Beloved). It was shot over the course of three nights at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, while the group was touring to promote their album Speaking in Tongues. The concert features major hits such as Psycho Killer, Burning Down the House and more. The four core members of Talking Heads – David Byrne (vocals), Tina Weymouth (bass), Chris Frantz (drums) and Jerry Harrison (keyboards) – are joined by an extensive backing band including singers, percussion and guitar. The film of the concert is regarded as a cult classic.

Reunited Heads!
