Socially relevant stories

“Started in May this year, Nouvelles Vibes is a growing concept that seeks to discover new talent, innovative trends in all genres and offers performance opportunities for young musicians,” says CTMA’s Project Manager Luvuyo Kakaza.

CTMA is a Not-for-Profit organisation that was established to promote Cape Town musicians and assist them with the development of their careers.

Nouvelles Vibes has showcased diverse outfits such as the Qadasi and Maqinga maskandi duo, cult-pop act Lo-Ghost, and Oceanico, a mixed cultural Brazilian and South African band.

A graduate of the University of Cape Town (UCT), Dladla has a degree in BMus Jazz Vocal Performance from the South African College of Music where she was under the tutelage of Nomfundo Xaluva and Amanda Tiffin.

She is a budding songwriter, exploring heart-touching and socially relevant stories in her music and has gained much performance experience. Thandeka leads her own quintet in performances and is also a part of various bands, including The Unity Band.
