'Game of Thrones'

Let’s face it, most of us are going to need a catch up. It’s a been a year since we last watched Daenerys get her dragon on, saw Jon Snow discover what “resurrection” really means, checked out Cersei’s magnificent revenge and ponder Sansa Stark’s future. Not to mention hang out with Tyrion, Brienne and the rest of the gang. Honestly, there’s a lot to remember. A refresher binge is probably the best way to keep up.

The show’s traditional April premiere was pushed to the US summer by HBO. Production took place in Northern Ireland, while additional portions were filmed in Spain (Sevilla, Caceres, Almodovar del Rio, Santiponce, Zumaia and Bermeo) and Iceland. Season seven directors are Mark Mylod, Jeremy Podeswa, Matt Shakman and Alan Taylor.

Still going strong

Last year Game of Thrones received 23 Primetime Emmy nominations, the most of any nominee for the third year in a row.  The nominations received at last year’s ceremony include Outstanding Drama Series, two for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington), three for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey, Maisie Williams), Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series (Maxvon Sydow), two for Outstanding Directing for a Drama  Series  (Miguel  Sapochnik,  Jack Bender) and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series (David Benioff and D.B. Weiss).
