Once again, the V&A Makers Landing Seafood Festival weekend is dedicated to the finest flavours of the ocean. This second annual event will be on Saturday, 23 and Sunday, 24 November 2024.
This year’s festival once again presents an exciting lineup of activities and experiences for seafood lovers and curious foodies.
Here’s a taste of what’s waiting for you:
- Fresh Fish Market featuring sustainable catches by Abalobi, Fish4Africa, and I&J
- Hands-on cooking classes in a Demo Kitchen
- Live Hake Filleting Demos where you can learn from the pros
- Diverse food and beverage vendors offering delicious bites and drinks
- Art Exhibition by Adam Rabinowitz showcasing the Bazaruto Ocean Conservation
- Live music and entertainment
The management at Makers Landing believes food has the power to teach, inspire, and unite. As such, this festival is more than just a celebration of seafood—it’s a chance to come together, spark conversation, and enjoy the rich flavours that reflect the heart of our community.
The Seafood Festival showcases the many small-scale fishers working in the Waterfront, and the traders at Makers Landing. You can expect ocean-fresh seafood prepared by Makers who bring their own backgrounds and flavours to the event be it Cape Malay, African, Halal, Indian and even vegan.
The event is for anyone who loves food, foodies, seafood lovers, chefs and anyone simply looking for a fun experience with good food, good drinks and good music.
