The remote lineup
So turn up the volume on your smartphone, tablet, laptop or TV, and tune into the V&A Waterfront’s Good Night Friday online concert featuring a line-up of musicians including Jimmy Nevis, Ross Learmonth, Wandile Mbambeni and Acoustic Element, plus MC Marc Lottering.
The musos will play remotely from their homes and funnyman Marc Lottering will get you laughing during crossover times.
The concert is free but consider making a donation, as all funds raised will go towards Ladles of Love charity, which is providing meals for the needy. Click onto the V&A Waterfront’s links to watch the concert, and make a donation by scanning the QR code that will be available during the concert.
Acts on the screen
Marc Lottering has written 16 one-man stage shows for the stage, earning him two Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards. He’s also written two smash-hit musicals, Aunty Merle the Musical and Aunty Merle It’s a Girl.
Ross Learmonth performs an intimate show for the streaming public – stripped down unplugged versions of Prime Circle hits and new songs from his coming solo album.
Wandile Mbambeni – Be it experimental, folk, or Afro soul, young Wandile is grounding his feet in the industry. He’s released three Eps – including Maturation and Kwakumnandi.
Jimmy Nevis – Hit singles include Elephant Shoes, Heartboxing, In Love With You and Balloon. Jimmy’s nominations include SAMA Kia Record of The Year, Wawela Awards for Best Male artist and composer as well as Channel O’s African Music Video Award.
Acoustic Element (AE). A violin and guitar duo who are graduates from UCT. Here cousins Callen Petersen and Jody Abel have combined their talents.
