After a moving festival opening on Saturday night, the 10th anniversary edition of Les Amateurs Virtuoses is in full swing. Virtuoses tickets are still available.

Recitals and master classes with some of the world’s most acclaimed amateur pianists take place this week at the Baxter Concert Hall and SA College of Music with a festival finale on Sunday November 18 with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra. Added into the mix of doctors, dentists and other professionals by day and thrilling pianists (plus on cellist and one violinist) by night are South African professional pianists Jan Hugo, Francois du Toit and Albie van Schalkwyk who are giving master classes as well as two students in performance.
