The huge stadium concert held in honour of Theuns Jordaan at Loftus Versfeld earlier in 2023 brought together the cream of South Africa’s Afrikaans artists, and the Theuns Jordaan Tribute Concert will also now be presented in Cape Town on Saturday, 6 January 2024.

The gig will be held at the DHL Stadium on a world class production scale, with the same artists, musicians, organisers and technical crew that was part of the Pretoria experience.

The Theuns Jordaan Tribute Concert organiser Sonett de Villiers says: “The Loftus show was a celebration of Theuns’ life and music. The concert exceeded everyone`s expectations. It was one of the most beautiful and significant events in Afrikaans music up to date. It was a unique experience and the magnitude of it was testament to Theuns’ legacy and evident of a lasting impact of his life’s work.”

Requests from Cape fans

“It was a tremendous production. We put an enormous amount of time, energy and passion into the production and initially planned it as a once of concert in Pretoria. We did not expect to be inundated by requests from Theuns’ fans in the Western Cape. We did some research and realized that very few Capetonians attended the Loftus show and we felt obliged in some way to bring this very special tribute show to them on home turf.”

“We are looking forward to presenting a concert with the same passion and dedication that made the Loftus show so memorable.”
