Bay Harbour Market will present its first ever dance party, PartyRepublica, on Tuesday 8 August, 2017. The gathering will feature a fantastic line-up of top local bands – The Rudimentals and Ottoman Slap, as well as legendary beatmasters Pascal & Pearce and Richard Marshall.
An amazing space
“We have wanted to host a dance event at the market for a number of years now, given what am amazing space it is and the awesome canvas that the building presents to create something unique!” says Anthony Stroebel, co-founder of Bay Harbour Market.
‘PartyRepublica’ bandstand
Six-piece troupe, Ottoman Slap, with their array of instruments and original Middle Eastern Balkan fusion sounds, will kick off the night, followed by Cape Town’s legendary ska/reggae act, The Rudimentals. Then, first on decks will be local DJ Richard Marshall, followed by electronic dance sensations Pascal & Pearce.
“As is the spirit and ethos of Bay Harbour Market, we want people to feel welcome and comfortable, and that this is not a pretentious event, but rather a place to ‘get down’ with your mates and dance. As challenging as it might sound, we want to attract the local Hout Bay community (young and old!), as well as the hip Cape Town party gang. We think the energy of our awesome building allows for this – as does the line up,” adds Stroebel.
Traders and bars
In addition to the great music, the customary roaring fires and several of the market’s popular food and beverage traders and bars will add to the unique experience that will be PartyRepublica. A percentage of ticket sales will go to Little Angels Childcare Centre in Hangberg, a charity which Bay Harbour Market has been working with since 2011.
Join Bay Harbour Market and Corona for a night of tomfoolery as the space is transformed into a playground of music and light. Note: The event is open to over 21s only (IDs on request). Security will be strict.
