Dan Nicholl hosts a comedy ensemble show with some of Cape Town’s favourite comedians at Hanover Street, GrandWest on 17 and 18 May. The line up includes Kurt Schoonraad, Stuart Taylor, KG Mokgadi and Rob van Vuuren, as well as the improv comedy genius, Chris Forrest.

Dan Nicholl has made name for himself as an MC for some of South Africa’s biggest events, including the Sport Industry Awards, the Cape Wine Auction, the BMW International Polo Series, the Absa Cape Epic, and many others. Internationally he has also hosted some impressive sporting events like the annual Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland for several years, the Emirates Invitational in Abu Dhabi, Beyond Sport United at Yankee Stadium and the Mauritius Open, to name a few.
The show’s line-up of comedians features some of South Africa’s best-known and funniest talent.
Kurt Schoonraad and Stuart Taylor must be two of the country’s most recognisable faces thanks to their popular TV show Going Nowhere Slowly. Both comedians’ careers have taken off since the show aired in 2005. They have each been regulars on television game shows, stand-up comedy and performing one-man shows on the professional comedy circuit.
Rob van Vuuren is also one of the country’s most popular funny men. He has acted in numerous television shows and several movies. He has been nominated for four Fleur Du Cap awards and won the inaugural Comics Choice Breakthrough Award in 2011 and has two Standard Bank Ovation Awards.
Kagiso Mokgadi, or KG as he is affectionately, is fast becoming one of the top new stand-up comedians acts in the country. Some of his performances include The Jive Funny Festival Cape Town and London, Keeping You In Stitches with Riaad Moosa, The Marc Lottering Roadshow, Blacks Only Comedy Show and many more.
Chris Forrest is a regular on the Heavyweight Comedy Jam, Blacks Only Comedy Show and the Kingsize Comedy Show. International festivals include The Edinburgh Festival and The Round Table Comedy Show in Ghana. He has appeared on the stand up circuit, on TV, in feature films and on the improv stage.
