FYN Restaurant has once again been named one of the World’s Best, earning a coveted spot at No.82 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants extended list for 2025.
This marks the fifth consecutive year that the Cape Town-based restaurant has been honoured on the globally respected ranking—affirming FYN’s continued impact on the international culinary stage.
Founded in 2018 by Chef Peter Tempelhoff, alongside Culinary Director Chef Ashley Moss and Service & Beverage Director Jennifer Hugé, FYN has become a bastion of innovation, fine cooking, and impeccable service.
Africa through a Japanese lens

Food Made Good Standard
At a time when sustainability and provenance are shaping global dining, FYN is one of the front runners. The restaurant is the only establishment in Africa to receive the top-tier three-star rating from the Food Made Good Standard in 2025 – the global benchmark for ethical hospitality. It is also the only stand-alone restaurant on the continent to have been inducted into the Relais & Châteaux association.
