Interact, move and play in a colourful fiesta of fun, food and dance under the guidance of MasterChef SA Finalist Jade De Waal followed by sexy salsa moves led by Thabo Moloto at Food Jams.
This is a social gathering where laughter and creative imagination are the main ingredients for the night.
Taste a little
A mouth-watering Latin-American themed menu has been designed by Jade De Waal, the cookbook author and musician. The evening starts with guests drawing a recipe to prepare a component of the meal.
Then make your way to your cooking station to familiarise yourself with the ingredients and start the magic. Meals will be plated and served in a buffet style at a communal dining table where you get the chance to savour the delectable flavours and tastes of each dish.
Move a little
Next get a taste for some sexy, sultry salsa moves in a fun group environment led by salsa sensationalist Thabo Moloto from ComeSalsa. Thabo was a Performer and Dance Coach on two Seasons of BBC’s hit TV show Strictly Come Dancing South Africa.
It doesn’t matter if you are a complete beginner or an experienced dancer, with Thabo you are guaranteed to have a fun-filled night! So thrown away those inhibitions and socialise to the sounds of Latin-America.
Spank Pablo the Piñata
Meet Pablo the Piñata, is a brightly coloured mascot who loves to be spanked. He promises plenty of stress relief and a heavy workout to finally break him open to find your mystery treats and prizes
Feel like standing out? Go dressed for the evening, or don’t. The organisers will have an assortment of accessories and props available to add to the fun. Anything that makes you feel the carnival magic!
Menu
All the ingredients will be provided on the night. Ethical eating, sustainability and the use of seasonal produce are our priority. Dishes are planned with health of the body and soul in mind. Then there’s the warm up. Sometimes a situation calls for a specific kind of cocktail and rum based cocktails in fresh coconuts will be served.
Opening acts will be Leche De Tigre and Yellowtail Ceviche. And the main event: Yellowtail Ceviche, Lamb Churrasco, Rainbow Corn, Sweet Potato Coxinha, Romesco , Golden rice and Cashew nut salsa. End on a sweet note with Acai and dark chocolate fondant, Canjica ice-cream and coconut plums
A cash bar will be available at Food Jams serving Brazilian style cocktails, wine, ciders and spirits and soft-drinks.
