There’s a couple of hard rocking gigs to choose from in the Cape Town region over the next few weeks. Punters can choose from The Brothers of the Wind Motorcycle Club 40th Anniversary, a Blues Rock Blockbuster, and the more unplugged sounds of Gin Wizard. Here’s all the intel:
Brothers of the Wind Motorcycle Club
This 40th anniversary gig happens on Saturday, 2 March 2024. Gin Wizard will be in Philadelphia for the Brothers of the Wind Motorcycle Club’s bash.
They have Dean Coche and Amelia Hoffman on vocals and will provide rock n roll from 4pm to 8pm. This is expected to be one ‘hellava’ rock n roll party.
If you prefer a walk on the wild side then head down to the venue Swellengift Farm on Old Malmesbury Road for this show. Doors open at 3pm. There will be food stalls at the Venue and you can bring your own tent and sleep over biker style.
A Blues Rock Blockbuster
Hillcrest Estate hosts this gig on Saturday, 9 March. Get your tickets here. Tickets are at Quicket for R170.
This Hillcrest covered beer garden explodes again for a second round of this act. Join in for another unique show that brings more new material and some next level musicians joining the lineup.
This one goes all the way from soulful blues to molten hot rocking overdrive. From the powerful vocals of Nhoza Sitsholwana to the sensational melodies of saxophonist Marc de Kock to the hi octane mini-Zeppelin Tribute with Dean Coche, This show promises to be a Block Buster. The Gin Wizard Acoustic Ensemble lands a little softer at The Alma Cafe on Friday, 15 March. Richard Pryor’s mission is to get back to his blues rock roots at this intimate show. They will be play some re-arranged choice blues standards, some classic covers and originals. The Repetoire will include songs from BB King, Tina Turner, Etta James, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Creedence and more.
