Internationally acclaimed and award-winning South African based guitarist James Grace and dancers from Carli Spanish Dance Productions in Johannesburg will return to the Theatre on the Bay with Recuerdos.

The all-Spanish guitar and dance programme features the music of composers such as Albéniz, Granados, De Falla, Rodrigo and Tárrega. The programme is set against the backdrop of stunning underwater photography by Ilse Moore.
James Grace
Kanna winner for Best Male Artist at the ABSA KKNK, and more recently KykNET Fiesta winner, James Grace is one of one South Africa’s leading concert artists. In recent years he has appeared with the Cape Philharmonic, the Kwa-Zulu Natal Philharmonic, the Johannesburg Festival, the Johannesburg Philharmonic, the Gauteng Philharmonic and the Free State Symphony in concerti by Villa – Lobos, Tirao, Stephenson, Giuliani and Vivaldi. James has recently released his sixth solo guitar album, Chilled.
Carli Olivier – Carli Spanish Dance Productions
In addition to being an accomplished principal dancer and teacher, founder of Carli Spanish Dance Productions and maintaining a practise of over 100 students, Carli Olivier is also the choreographer and artistic director of nine original shows in as many years. Carli’s dance influence include Spanish, modern, tap, contemporary and African disciplines. Carli is a regular visitor to Spain and particularly Jerez, where she attends the annual Flamenco Dance Festival.

Ilse Moore
The water is Ilse’s canvas that she uses to paint, draw and illustrate through photography – creating something new and something that connects us with what we feel around us, the things that make us live, breathe, feel and exist. From the divine connection between a mother and child to a symbol of personal freedom and strength through suspended weightlessness, Ilse creates a space where one’s inner voice becomes a reality.
