Three divas, three icons, three legends!

Three dynamic dames will share the stage in a programme which includes their favourite, popular songs. Hear Gloria Bosman, Vicky Sampson and Amanda Strydom in the Legendary Divas lineup on the Suidoosterfees 2017 bill at the Artscape Opera House.

Gloria:  Soweto-born star Gloria Bosman has an ever-growing list of honours, including two SA Music Awards (SAMA’s) – 11 nominations and two KORA nominations. She is one of South Africa’s most celebrated singers. From these early beginnings, Gloria has gone on to sing with the cream of South African musicians both locally and internationally. Using her training in opera, Bosman’s singing style vers towards African soul and jazz.

Vicky Samson keeps the ‘African Dream’ alive

Vicky:  Vicky Sampson is the magical voice behind African Dream – the song that inspired a  continent at the African Cup of Nations Football Competition in 1996. The song has won her Best Song, courtesy of East Coast Radio, the NTVA Silver for video, and a MIDEM nomination for video.

Amanda: Amanda Strydom is a multi-award winning singer and songwriter. Although best known for singing, Amanda has also been active as a playwright and actress, most notably in the fields of cabaret and television. In 1979, she wrote her first song, Ek loop die Pad (I walk down the Road). She worked for the Cape Provincial Arts Board (Capab), and wrote the first of six one woman plays, State of the Heart, in 1993.
