‘Slap In The Face’
Singer Karma-Ann Swanepoel achieved national success in late 1996, at the age of 21, with the release of her debut album Slap In The Face under the moniker Henry Ate. Karma and Henry Ate spent much of the late 90’s and 2000’s releasing chart-topping albums, touring the world and performing alongside legends like Skunk Anansie.
In 2010, Karma went into the studio with Grammy award-winning engineer Francis Buckley to record alongside several of LA’s top studio musicians she’d connected with in LA. The resulting concept album, Edison Project, is a collection of some of Karma’s best work as a songwriter to date.
Now based in Portland, Oregon, Karma is excited to be travelling home this December to perform live to Cape Town and Johannesburg audiences when thousands turn out for TEXAS Live in South Africa for the First Time, Playing All Their Hits tour.
