Vintage Jukebox by LamtaVintage Jukebox presented by the Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy (LAMTA) is a dynamic new dance production that opens at Theatre on the Bay on 14 June 2023, a celebration of the spirit of the Roaring Twenties and the era of the speakeasy, flappers, prohibition and jazz music!

Featuring a large cast of talented LAMTA  “Triple Threat” performers, Vintage Jukebox will showcase choreography by some of South Africa’s top names such as Adele Blank, Michelle Reid, Sean Bovim, Jared Schaedler, Liam Gillespie, Shameelah Kinnear, Brigitte Reeve-Taylor, Robin van Wyk, Ashley Searle and LAMTA Co-Director Duane Alexander. Expect a high-octane, nostalgic, retro-journey through the music and culture of the 1920’s, with a 21st century twist.

According to Director Anton Luitingh, Vintage Jukebox will appeal to fans of 1920’s culture and to newcomers of the genre. “We’ve worked hard to create a production that captures both the spirit and energy of the era, while also bringing our own fresh and innovative approach to the choreography and staging”.  Whether you’re a die-hard Baby Boomer or a curious Millennial, audiences will be bopping, tapping their feet and humming along as they are swept up in the vibe of this dynamic production.
