Eight band from 4 Cape Town schools competed in The German International School Cape Town’s second hi-energy Battle of the Bands at De Waal Park on Sunday, 7 May.
School represented included Camps Bay High School, St Cyprian’s School, St George’s Grammar School and The German International School Cape Town (DSK).
Every band featured standout players, with some interesting surprises on the bandstand.
Impressive Jazz Yard Academy
SACS Alumni band, Redhanded, who were the winners of the 2016 Battle of the Bands Competition, led the charge with an opening set, while young non profit NPC, The Jazz Yard Academy, delivered an impressive, blistering finale as the afternoon’s memorable guest act.
