McCoy Mrubata and Mark Hauser

The Jazz in the Native Yards series is presenting ace saxman, McCoy Mrubata, who is teaming up with Swiss saxophonist Mark Hauser in a series of jazz concerts around the country.

The tour, dubbed The McCoy Mrubata/Mark Hauser Project, started up in Johannesburg and travels to Durban and Cape Town. In Cape Town the two saxophonists will be joined by a super-hot band featuring Blake Hellaby (keyboard), Peter Ndlala (bass) and Frank Paco (drums).

To get a feel of the vibe, get up close and view a practice session featuring Hauser and Mrubata with Paul Hanmer, Thembinkosi Mavimbela and Bernice Boikanyo as they work in preparation for their South African tour.

See The McCoy Mrubata/Mark Hauser Project line-up at a choice of three venues: Alliance Francaise, Guga S’thebe and at Kwa Sec in Langa.
