The people of Cape Town are invited to enjoy a day of delicious food, top quality entertainment, stalls and much more on the historic Zonnebloem College Estate in the heart of District 6 in the Cape Town City Bowl on Saturday 12 May 2018.
Who you can expect to see on stage
* Legendary storyteller Dr Sindiwe Magona (@magona_sindiwe) and her musical stage production Kwathi ke Kaloku – Once Upon a Time, with acclaimed marimba player Bongani Blax Sotshononda and his United Nations of Africa band – an initiative of the Cape Town Music Academy
* Rob van Vuuren and Dani Bischoff who’ll perform their children’s book Florence & Watson, plus some stand-up comedy
* A marimba performance by the Zonnebloem kids, led by @musicworks_ngo
* The smooth sounds of adult contemporary star Lloyd Jansen
* The magic of acclaimed magician Jjacques le Sueur
* A performance by Zonnebloem’s super-talented dance group – as seen on SA’s Got Talent

Be sure to bring your kids, friends and neighbours – as this is a community-orientated day in the spirit of the original District 6 community.
The day will be filled with food for all tastes (halaal, vegan, street, carnival food, frozen yoghurt, gourmet coffees and smoothies), delicious drinks (craft gin and beer, non-alcoholic drinks), picnic tables, magic, stories, dance, jazz, games and special treats ahead of Mother’s Day and Ramadan.
Zonnebloem College Estate
The organizers are celebrating the 160th birthday of the Zonnebloem College Estate – home to Zonnebloem Boys Primary, Zonnebloem Girls Primary and The Children’s Art Centre, and other education institutions – and the resilient, creative spirit of the children, parents, teachers and residents of this community.
