A new family-friendly garden market, dubbed The Secret Garden, is launching in Constantia in Cape Town on 12 May, 2018. The Secret Garden is being styled as “a boutique, whimsical and exclusive experience for the whole family”.
As the first project of the Secret Garden brand, the market hopes to serve as an example of the creative, classy and unique experiences they have in store. The event will be located in the heart of Constantia in one of Cape Town’s most beautiful gardens, centred around a giant oak and overlooking the mountains – the setting creates the perfect foundation upon which the all-day garden party atmosphere of the market will be created.
Curated, varied, unique
Visitors will be offered the chance to make themselves at home in the garden while sampling the finest vendors from around the province – each one is hand selected for their contribution to the market. and the overall result hopes to be a curated, varied, unique and high standard of shopping experience.
From the moment visitors make their way down the hidden driveway, the ‘secret’ begins to unfold with luxury food trucks and a bright pink cocktail cart leading them around a beautiful thatch home and into an aloe garden, where an array of fashion, jewellery and homeware vendors will set the standard of what is to come.
Just past a giant lavender bush the heart of the market will appear. Bedouin tents, blanketed picnic areas, hammocks and a rustic and chic mismatch of furniture will set the garden party feel with people in groups sprawled out over the lush grass enjoying the acoustic sounds of Liam Culbert, while the kids area gives parents the opportunity to relax knowing the little ones are entertained and under the watchful eye of the market’s child minder.
Around the outskirts of the garden nearly 50 of Cape Town’s finest fashion, accessory, homeware, kids apparel and food and beverage traders will treat visitors to a one of a kind shopping and feasting experience.

From artisan G&T’s, oysters, champagne, gourmet burgers and fresh salads to denim jeans, rugs, sexy socks, and handcrafted ceramics, the organisers hope there will be something to delight everyone.
