On 29 August 2017, seven of South Africa’s finest bartenders will demonstrate their inventiveness and skill as they present their creations, using world-famous Angostura aromatic bitters, Angostura orange bitters, Angostura Rums and Amaro di Angostura in a Cocktail Competition like no other.

The winner of the South African leg will then compete against nine other Africa and Middle East finalists in the Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge regional leg taking place in Cape Town during October.
The House of Angostura in Trinidad and Tobago will host finalists from around the world at the Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge 2018 in February 2018. They will enjoy the experience of a lifetime, with visits to T&T’s famous steel bands and the chance to “play ’mas” in full costume in the country’s carnival!
The ultimate winner of the finals that takes places in Trinidad and Tobago walks home with a cash prize of US$10,000, the title of “Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge Champion 2018,” and a two-year contract as Angostura’s Global Brand Ambassador, representing Angostura aromatic bitters, Angostura orange bitters, Angostura Rums and Amaro di Angostura.

Champagne Cocktail
Chilled: Champagne or MCC
1 sugar cube
3 dashes of Angostura aromatic bitters
Garnish: Spiral of citrus peel
Glass: Champagne flute
Method: Add the sugar cube with Angostura aromatic bitters to the chilled champagne and garnish with the citrus peel.
