The Conservatory restaurant at The Cellars-Hohenort makes for a classy Father’s Day gift that entails treating dad to a leisurely 5-star breakfast on Sunday 19 June, 2022.

Served in the elegant Conservatory, or the terrace overlooking the gardens, the celebrations start with a glass of bubbly, tea or coffee, and a choice of fruit juice, including an immune booster of carrot or beetroot with ginger. The scrumptious buffet spread includes cereals and home-made muesli, seasonal fruit, and a selection of hams, cured meats, and smoked salmon with cream cheese and capers.

Hot breakfast

Complementing the basket of freshly baked pastries is a cheese platter and preserves, before the hot breakfast is served as main event.

Executive Chef Tronette Dippenaar and her team will prepare a range of hot breakfast options – from the full English breakfast of fried eggs, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, pork sausage, grilled tomatoes and baked beans; to Eggs Benedict; folded omelettes with a choice of fillings, or smoked salmon with scrambled eggs.

Healthy options include Banting Benedict of brown mushroom, bacon, tomato, poached eggs and Hollandaise sauce; or smashed avo on toasted rye bread. But since it’s Father’s Day, Dads with a sweet tooth may spoil themselves with a choice of French toast with maple flavoured syrup, banana, crispy bacon and crushed pecan nuts; or crumpets served with maple syrup, bacon or berry compote with honey cream cheese.

Bookings for the Conservatory restaurant are essential. Breakfast is served between 7am and 10.30am at a cost of R295 pp, and R175 for children 11 years old and younger.
