The Table Mountain Cableway Charity Challenge soon returns for another great day outdoors. The 2025 event is scheduled event for Saturday, 10 May, and the organisers, Table Mountain Aerial Cableway (TMACC), call on you to be a part of the action by cheering on participants, pledging your support through generous donations, and enjoying a day on the mountain.
Hike Platteklip Gorge
On the day of the Cableway Charity Challenge, individual athletes, schools and corporate teams will hike Platteklip Gorge as many times as possible, between sunrise and sunset to raise funds for four beneficiaries: Ubuntu Football, Funda Kunye, Volunteer Wildfire Services (VWS) and Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR).
All South Africans are invited to rally behind the participants, encouraging them to push their limits to maximise the impact for our chosen charities.
A trail running highlight
Since its inception in 2009, the Challenge has raised millions for local charities. TMACC is proud to host the event once again and urges the public to support participants as they strive to reach the R1 million fundraising goal on the day.
“The Cableway Charity Challenge is a highlight on the city’s trail running calendar. We are proud to host this incredible initiative.” says Selma Hercules, Executive Director at TMACC.
“It is inspiring to see participants push themselves for a good cause, and we encourage the public to join us in cheering them on. Once again, we are excited to have our teams taking part in the corporate challenge, as we do each year, showing our commitment not just as hosts, but as active participants in making a difference.”
The public can show their support by pledging funds to a participant of the Challenge, making a general donation, or simply joining in the excitement on the day.
